On July 31, 2021 at 20:00 the Martino ensemble in the quartet cast of Gianmarco Martino (vocals, guitar, chitarra battente), Caroline Metzger (cello, lira calabrese), Steffen Trekel (mandolin) and Susanne Frohriep (accordion) invites into the One World Kulturzentrum e.V. Ostheide (21400 Reinstorf, Alte Schulstraße 1) to a musical journey to the south of Italy.

Learn about musical characteristics of different regions from Campania to Sicily through songs from these regions. The songs deal with historical events, legends, refer to the picturesque landscape, to the machinations of the ‘Ndrangheta and the Mafia and of course of love.

Ferragosto a Gauting

On August 15, 2018 at 20:00 Gianmarco Martino and Caroline Metzger let the Ferragosto evening in Gauting in the Schlosscafè (Am Schlosspark 16, 82131 Gauting) end with a musical journey through the sunny south of Italy. After the groups “Just in Time” and Erik Berthold with his “Corner Kids” Gianmarco and Caroline play selected duo versions of famous Neapolitan and Sicilian Canzoni, which deal with the picturesque landscape, cultural and historical events, the mafia and of course love.

“Garden” in Hamburg

On 05.07.2018 at 18:30 invites the association “Freunde des Lüttge-Garten e.v.” all art and culture lovers to an event in the Lüttge garden in Hamburg, which is dedicated to the garden as a room. The actress Sandra Maria Schöner will present poems and the singer Gianmarco Martino southern Italian music to this important topic in the Mediterranean area.

In addition, there is an installation with pictures and photographs on the topic of Susanne Gressmann and Monika Paulick in an atmospheric gazebo.

Martino-Ensemble @ Schmelzer

On June 11, 2018, the “Festival of Hearing” of the company Schmelzer Hörsysteme begins. During the week from 11 to 16 June 2018, the Martino-Ensemble will be holding concerts in various branches, where invited test persons for the newly developed equipment but also other guests for southern Italian, acoustic and culinary delicacies are welcome.

La Cosa Nostra è/e la cosa vostra

Gianmarco Martino will perform the 2nd Klangbilderkonzert on 10.06.2018 at 6:00 pm with his great ensemble consisting of Evelyne Saad (violin), Caroline Metzger (cello), Steffen Trekel (mandolin), Susanne Frohriep (accordion) and Stanislav Efaev (contrabass) in the Museum Behnhaus Drägerhaus.
The concert takes a critical look at the criminal machinations in Sicily and highlights their impact on the lives of the population. There are songs that tell legends about the origins of southern Italy’s criminal organizations, prison songs, murder songs, rachel songs, songs that describe ways a gentleman must go to behave properly, and songs in honor of fighting the mafia of fallen protagonists. It also reflects the everyday lives of people exposed to organized crime.
