Caroline Metzger, born in Freiburg im Breisgau, started to play the Cello at age 6. Later she studied at the Musikhochschule of Freiburg im Breisgau with Prof. Christoph Henkel. She joined the master classes of Miklós Perényi, Daniel Shafran and Timothy Eddy aswell as the International Music Festival of Sarasota/Florida. She won the first price of the Mendelssohn – Hochschulwettbewerb at the Musikhochschule of Freiburg.
Since 1990 Caroline Metzger is 3rd principal of the cello section of the Philharmonisches Orchester der Hansestadt Lübeck. She regularly plays a lot of chamber music and is member of the Martino – Ensemble.
